Registered Psychologists complete a doctoral-level degree, including a one-year full-time internship. They are regulated by the College of Psychologists of BC, who will investigate complaints from the public. Registered Psychologists are required to comply with their Code of Ethics. They complete annual Continuing Education to ensure that they remain up-to-date with their therapy and assessment services.
In British Columbia, anyone is allowed to call themselves a counsellor or a therapist. Counsellors who have completed graduate programs can become credentialed, for example as Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC).
During your first appointment, we will talk about your current concerns and goals for therapy. We will review your history and important events in your life. We will agree on a treatment plan, which will become the focus of subsequent therapy sessions.
Individual Therapy: $235 per 50-minute session.
Assessments and Clinical Supervision: Please contact Dr. Sharir for fees.
Registered Psychologists are often covered by extended health plans. Please check your plan for more details. My fees are not covered by MSP.
